Appointments for Physiotherapy

You may be referred by your GP or specialist for treatment but you can also arrange a consultation independently. Normally your physiotherapist would like to be in contact with your doctor in order to relay information about your progress for your treatment. Physiotherapy sessions last 45 minutes and may be booked form 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

MARIAN TRELAWNY, MCSP

Chartered Physiotherapist

Specialities: Muscular-skeletal problems, recent injuries, orthopaedic problems including pre & post operative care and domiciliary work.

MRS JAN SPENCER, MCSP

I qualified in 1975 from St. Mary’s Hospital London as a Chartered physiotherapist.

My post graduate work at St. Mary’s Hospital included one year with the orthopaedic team, one year with the cardiovascular team, then I was appointed as physiotherapist for the Lindo Wing.

In 1980 I joined Dr John Glyn & Mrs Daphne Glyn’s Practice in Southwick Place. In 1986 I  moved the Practice to 71 Park Street with my colleague Marian Trelawny.

Specialities:  Soft tissue/sports injuries
                    Rheumatology (including Lupus)
                    Orthopaedic rehabilitation
                    Cervical spine & associated headaches

JULIA FIRTH, MCSP

Chartered Physiotherapist
Qualified (APPI) to teach core Pilates.

Trained at the Middlesex Hospital and worked at the Hammersmith Hospital before moving to Canada for one year. On return further NHS work in Out-patient Departments before entering Private Practice. After a career break for children joined the Park Street team in 1989.

Specialises in muscular-skeletal, recent injuries and orthopaedic problems including post-operative care. Conditions commonly treated include back and neck pain, whiplash, sciatica, tennis elbow, sprained joints, frozen shoulder, RSI (WRULDS) and arthritis.

Available on:  Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays

FRED STREET, MCSP, SRP, D.Phys.Ed.

Qualification: Chartered Physiotherapist
                        Diploma in Physical Education

Background: Many years in the rehabilitation of patients with mixed disabilities and ages in health services both in UK and overseas
                    
Twenty five years as a physiotherapist/trainer to Arsenal Football Club and the England Football Team
                  
 Over Twenty years currently at The Clinic

                    Rehabilitation of post operative knees

MARIA DIEGAN MCSP, SRP Lic AC

Maria graduated as a physiotherapist from University College Dublin in 1984. Following 7 years working for the NHS, Maria moved onto private practice working in Chelsea and Mayfair. Maria has now practiced as a Physiotherapist for 20 years.

Specialities:  Musculo-skeletal, orthopaedics and sports injury area. 
From 1990-1992 Maria studied Chinese Acupuncture and has now been practicing Acupuncture for 14 years, using this successfully in combination with her physiotherapist skills.PMS, headaches and stress.

Acupuncture is used to treat musculo-skeletal pain where it facilitates healing – relaxes muscles and decreases pain via endorphin release.

EVELYN BRODRICK, DCR,MSR

Evelyn trained at King's College Hospital and has worked in various hospitals including St Bartholomews.

She has worked at The London Clinic for Injuries for over 10 years.

The X-Ray room is next to the consulting rooms so general X-Rays can be taken and discussed with the consultant during the visit.

MRI's can be arranged on the same day and results are back within 2-3 days of examination.
